Synchro’s goal for their new website was to give their beautifully designed and constructed buildings the digital justice they needed. They also wanted to use as minimal copy as possible while still ranking high in Google search. For the cherry on top, they asked for a website design that could also be used as a presentation tool when pitching new business. Due to the minimal copy, we had to make sure each image and page was properly meta tagged so their organic search wouldn’t suffer. The approach to the creative message was minimalistic just like the creative design. Only the most crucial, need-to-know messages were included.
Before the redesign, they had two live websites because they couldn’t decide on the design and they had just spent 6 months trying to design a third website with a design agency in Norway. The hurdle they kept running into was that all three websites looked dated and didn’t represent the high-quality designs of their projects.
The large photo sliders on each page had to look great across multiple platforms (desktop, tablet, and phone) as well as be able to be paused and text be easily hidden so the site could be used as a presentation tool. Test Monki had to first dig through thousands of their project photos to choose which photos were a) large enough to use in the full-screen image design and b) breath-taking enough to truly represent the project. For the home page, we created a slideshow that can be stopped if the client wanted to use it as a presentation tool. Navigation and copy was kept to the outer edges and bottom so the photos really shined. The project pages are minimal with the specifications only showing on a click.
